Where’s Your Idol? Where’s Your God?

Why do have idols in our lives? Obviously every idol is a violation of the 1st commandment, but we can also understand why we turn to our idols so that we might turn to our God instead. Our redo is from our continuing study of the book of Isaiah is chapter 46.

Relentlessly Saved

How does God maintain each person’s free will and yet accomplish his will as a matter of inevitability? How can God save someone who never gets the chance to hear about him? We tackle these questions and more in our continuing study of the book of Isaiah, today in chapter 45.

Ordinary Savior

Jesus, as a person on earth, did not insist to the people around him that he was the Messiah. He rarely admitted as such. Why did people believe in him anyway? Why do people today believe in him anyway? We continue our study of the book of Isaiah today in chapter 42.

Rejected?

In our Gospel account we see the doubts John the Baptist had about Jesus in a dark hour of his life. The Israelites also had doubts about God’s promises in Isaiah’s day. We have our doubts today as well. Solution? Go to God anyway just as John the Baptist did. We continue our study of the book of Isaiah today in chapter 41.

Comfort My People

So many need comfort. What gets in the way? Self-righteousness? despair? Isaiah has comfort for them; Christians have comfort for them. We continue our study of the book of Isaiah 40:1-11.

Preparing for Christmas?

If we do Christmas every year, why do we need to make a deliberate effort to prepare our hearts for it? What does Jesus coming in the manger mean for my own prayer, repentance, and daily walk with God?  Begin a new study of the book of Isaiah today in 40:12–31.

Struggling With God’s Will

Even though life has many challenges and much pain, God’s greatest gift is our trials. Because we view our earthly struggles in view of heaven, we also know God’s greatest deliverance is our death. We continue our study of the book of Acts with 12:1-11.

Every Member a Missionary

How do visible churches grow? How does God grow the invisible church? If God will bring people to heaven, why do your efforts matter? We continue our study of the book of Acts today in 11:19-30.

Free and Clean

Is it just the believers in Cornelius town and day that were considered “unclean?” Do we consider some Christians “unclean” because we know the most public sins they have committed? What does it mean to be clean? We continue our journey through the book of Acts in 11:1-18.

Join Christ With Us

The Christian church is in decline across America in its numbers; they drop every year across most denominations. What change does the church experience to help it grow? What change did the church in Cornelius’ day experience before it could grow? We continue our study of the Book of Acts today in Acts 10:1-23.
